Lab and Refinery Superintendent


This is a Full-time position in Fallon, NV posted September 2, 2022.

The Lab/Refinery Superintendent is responsible for all operational and maintenance facets of the assay lab, and refinery operations. This includes setting goals and objectives for the department. Responsibilities will include budgeting, personnel recruitment, scheduling repairs, ensuring safety and environmental standards are followed. This position will interface with other departments to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.​​​​​​​

Job Requirements:

•Manages the Refining, Analytical and Metallurgical Groups to provide a cost effective service on a timely basis. •Ensures the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the Refinery and Laboratories to meet or exceed safety, production and cost targets, while ensuring environmental compliance

•Provides technical support to the process groups for troubleshooting of operational problems, or for operational enhancements

•Provides technical support to the Heap Leach spray & carbon column operation. • Designs, develops and implements metallurgical testing to evaluate new ore bodies

•Ensures that all technicians are working safely & in compliance with  safety policies & procedures and all relevant safety legislation

•Ensures new processes or flowsheet modifications are designed with safe operation as the first consideration •Ensures a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in the refinery, analytical and metallurgical laboratories

•Provides technical direction and participates in pre-feasibility and feasibility level studies as assigned. •Maximizes process throughput and gold recovery at optimum operating costs Provides accurate and transparent gold and production accounting

•Budgets, plans and implements strategies to maximize gold production at minimum reagent and operating costs.

Bachelor’s + Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operating plant as a metallurgist. MSHA required.
