Job SummaryResponsible for all sales activities including retention, target and development of customers.
Facilitate company efforts to successfully take care of customers and resolve any customer concerns.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with customer’s and potential customer’s decision makersDevelop and maintain a list of target and development customers and build strong relationships with them to meet new sales goalsAccountable to attain new and retention sales volume goalsIn person interaction with customers; requires possible interaction at their offices and/or job sites, as necessaryUnderstand customer needs and set expectations accordinglyProvide timely and accurate documentation for mix design submittals to customers as neededAssist Dispatch in scheduling customer deliveriesMaintain a high level of urgency to resolve any customer issuesTrack monthly volume forecasts for all customersAssist with customer collectionsFollow current trends in the national/local economy that may impact the local ready-mix marketMaintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned areaProvide timely reports, i.E., monthly activity reports and expense reports, etc.Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the teamAttend industry-related events and participate in trade associations, Chambers of Commerce, and local economic development groupsShare expertise and experience with other sales team membersEducationCollege degree in business, marketing, engineering or a realted field preferred.Requirements/QualificationsThree to five years sales experience, preferably in a construction materials environmentPrior experience with Microsoft business softwareAbility to work independently and set priorities to meet customer expectations and demandsAbility to build and maintain relationshipsAbility to multi-task and problem-solve quicklyAbility to interact with customers in social settings to better develop business relationships; including breakfast, lunch, dinner and other busines activities and related social eventsStrong oral and written communicatio skillsAbility to meet deadlinesInvolved in professional/civic organizations in the communityMust possess and maintain a current and valid Nevada Driver’s LicenseMust be insurable under company vehicle insurance programMust adhere to company drug and alcohol policy, to include random drug and alcohol screenings Preferred:Experience in a vertically integrated construction materials organizationExperience with Public Entities (state, county, city governments, etc.)Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction productsFamiliar with CRM and customer contact databasesFamiliarity with ERP SAPBenefitsAt CalPortland, we’re proud to offer a comprehensive, competitive benefits package that provides health and financial support to our most important resources: our employees.
