Read on for more details:The Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Draftsman is a member of the Navy Continuous Training Environments (NCTE) Instrumentation, Communications and Electronic Warfare (ICE) Engineering Team and provides direct support to the ICE Engineering Lead. The ICE Engineering Division provides fully integrated enhancement and sustainment engineering support for the Navys Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training ranges. Specific duties include Drafting, Technical Writing, and drawing and documentation management in support of engineering tasking for all sites and components of the Navys LVC Training environment. Those engineering support requirements include system development and deployment, integration of system modifications, for range modernization and new facility build-ups.Position DescriptionThe NCTE Draftsman and Technical Documentation Specialist is responsible for the development of detailed, technical drawings and documentation in support of the NCTE programs Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN). Working with NCTE installations team lead documentation specialist, draftsmen, network and installation engineers, the draftsman/technical documentation specialist will be required to gather requirements from technical personnel, and based upon requirements, create and maintain technical NCTE installation documentation, to include Fleet Readiness Certification Board (FRCB) Packages, Naval Messages, In-Briefs, and other relevant documentation. On occasion, the Technical Documentation Specialist will develop Installation Design and As-Built plans, to include detailed facility, cabling, power, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, elevations, and network drawings. Mange the development, formatting, and submission of Science and Technical Information (STIs) Documentation to meet contract requirements.The Draftsman/Technical Documentation Specialist may be required to periodically travel to NCTE locations to survey proposed and existing NCTE installation sites and develop drawings and reports according to the results. Additionally, the Draftsman/Technical Documentation Specialist will be responsible for management of the NCTE Drawing and Documentation Libraries using various information sharing systems and will periodically adjust information contained therein to enhance information sharing across the NCTE programs NETTN.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop technical documentation required as part of the NCTE Installation Process. Maintain NCTE documentation and drawing libraries across relevant information storage and sharing platforms utilized by the NCTE.As required, develop and update other technical and administrative documentation, generally using Microsoft office products.As required, create, develop, and modify NCTE technical drawings using AutoCAD, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Visio to ensure drawings conform to Navy and industry best standards for technical IT drawings and design documentation.Education and Experience Required:Associates Degree in Applied Science in drafting or a related degree3-5 years experience in computer aided design and drafting in a technical engineering context. Administrative experience preferred.In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted for applicable work experience.
