Make-A-Wish Northeastern & Central California and Northern Nevada is currently seeking a full-time Regional Director (Hybrid) to join our team in our Reno, NV 89501 location.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Regional Director is responsible for leading the organizations revenue strategy in the region. The Regional Director will qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Serving as the primary external face of the organization in the region, the Regional Director will grow our revenue base and increase awareness of local operations. Additionally, the Regional Director will support the recruitment, development, and management of a regional council of volunteer leaders who are committed to supporting the organizations growth. The Regional Director is expected to utilize a team approach to building longterm relationships with current and prospective donors to deepen their commitment to Make-A-Wish and understanding of our Chapters vision and priorities. This position requires strong fund development experience with cultivation of major gift individuals and corporate partnerships and the ability to represent Make-A-Wish in meetings and other public forums.
What Youll Do:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive, relationship-based fundraising strategy that grows revenue in support of our mission from key markets, including Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Truckee, and the Tahoe Basin
Building and cultivating a major gift portfolio that successfully increases revenue annually, including independently identifying and cultivating new major gift donors
Executing effective stewardship strategies that build donor loyalty and increase giving levels
Leading the Northern Nevada Regional Council in achieving annual fundraising goals through management of monthly meetings and an inclusive strategy that furthers council engagement
Developing a strategy to explore engagement in Northeastern Nevada, including building medical and financial partnerships in Fallon, Winnemucca, Elko and surrounding markets
Representing the organization among other non-profits in the region, building strategic partnership where appropriate
Developing and enhancing corporate sponsorships through strong interpersonal communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills. Creating mutually beneficial partnerships for all supporters with a donor-centric fundraising approach
Representing Make-A-Wish at events and promotions including public speaking engagements as needed
Maintaining appropriate records. Analyze donor data from Raisers Edge to determine the best stewardship options to increase giving in the future
Providing leadership for Trailblaze Challenge, our annual peer-to-peer fundraiser located at Lake Tahoe
Performing other duties as assigned by Vice President of Philanthropy
Our Ideal Candidate:
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a related field
5+ years of experience with major donor fundraising
Proven experience managing and growing a portfolio of significant donors

Exceptional writing skills, with a demonstrated track record of articulating program impact to a variety of audiences
