MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I – 3RD SHIFT

NOW Foods

This is a Full-time position in Reno, NV posted November 21, 2022.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Supplements the activities of Maintenance Mechanics by assisting with installs, repairs, troubleshooting of processing and high speed packaging machinery and other specialized equipment in the facility.Performs routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) such as inspection and lubrication of chains, sprockets, pulleys, belts, bearings, gears and general gearbox maintenance, including the replacement of oil per PM frequency.Operates production equipment as part of troubleshooting, and validation of completed maintenance activity.Documents work and completes reports using CMMS system. Initiates purchase order request forms for parts and supplies.Assists with maintaining spare parts inventory for plant by checking out parts, using parts ordering procedure and restocking inventory.Helps maintain shop areas and parts room so they are clean and orderly.Provides general production support and training as required.Actively participates in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives. Recommends and implements continuous improvement ideas.Occasionally performs work in other areas such as building maintenance.Complies with safety and cGMP requirements. Follows (LO/TO) all Safety procedures and wears all personal protective equipment as directed by Company Safety Policy.SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTSupports a culture of safe production and operations; follows all safety rules and procedures. Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting to the appropriate people when an employee sees a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved. Assists with communicating safety information to new employees. Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical schoolORa minimum of two years related experienceORequivalent combination of education and experience.General knowledge of machine troubleshooting, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, cGMP s, lock-out/tag-out is required.Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively to coworkers and supervisors.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, addition, subtraction, multiplication, decimals, and measurements.REASONING ABILITYExcellent problem solving skills required.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIESBasic computer skills required. Must have ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. Excellent interpersonal and listening skills required. Must demonstrate an understanding of the company priorities and core values and daily activities must support them. Must work effectively in a team environment, promoting cooperation and collaboration. Excellent organizational, planning and attention to detail. Initiative to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision required.Ability to quickly understand the theory of operation in both processing and high speed packaging areas.
