This is a grant-funded, renewable, full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Director of System Sponsored Programs and EPSCoR.

The position is located in Las Vegas, NV.

< /div><Div> The NSHE is comprised ofeight institutions: two universities, a state college, four community colleges and a research institute.

The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant challenges and opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 15,000 employees.< /div><Div> The Research Administrator for the Nevada System of Higher Education will be responsible for providing pre-award/post-award research administration and daily programmatic oversight of education, workforce and research programs, including GEAR UP< /div><Div> STARTING SALARY: C (Starting salary range is approximately: $63,000
– $66,000 and is commensurate with education, experience, and training.) Benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life, and retirement benefits.< /div><Div> APPROXIMATE STARTING DATE: October 1, 2022< /div><Div> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have an earned Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

A minimum of 2 years progressive experience directly applicable to the position is required.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in non-profit/higher education grants management.

< /div><Div> Preference given to Certified Research Administrators (CRA).

Experience with Workday preferred.< /div><Div> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Successful candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities.

It is recommended that applicants for this position address each of the following items in the letter of application:< /div><Ul> <Li>Knowledge of NSHE rules and regulations and OMB Uniform Guidance < /li><Li> Extensive background in grant proposal and budget preparation< /li><Li> Excellent computer skills using statistical spreadsheets and word processing software < /li><Li> Demonstrated experience in managing multiple programs < /li><Li> Excellent communication skills
– both written and oral< /li></ul> <Div>RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following areas of responsibility within the System Sponsored Programs and EPSCoR Office:< /div><Div> Research Administration:< /div><Ul> <Li>Administer program budget that is typically over $1 million annually< /li><Li> Manage the day-to-day activities of programs< /li><Li> Oversee all accounting and financial transactions, approve expenditures and maintain fiscal oversight of programs< /li><Li> Prepare subawards and distribute grant funds, process modifications to awards< /li><Li> Review invoices from subawards to ensure compliance with program requirements, as well as state and federal regulations< /li><Li> Prepare independent contractor forms< /li><Li> Track project cost-sharing< /li><Li> Oversee purchasing card and expenditures to a central operating budget< /li><Li> Assist in post award accounting and close out cycles< /li><Li> Ensure compliance to federal regulations, non-regulatory guidelines, and Office of Management and Budget requirements (Uniform Guidance)< /li><Li> Work with a team consisting of university staff and administrators to provide overall programmatic needs< /li><Li> Develop and prepare grant applications and submit grants through required portals< /li><Li> Oversee and coordinate request for proposals (RFPs) statewide, prepare proposals for review, organize reviewer panels< /li><Li> Compile and submit interim and annual reports while ensuring reporting and evaluation requirements are met< /li><Li> Perform general office tasks as necessary< /li><Li> Communicate and work collaboratively with individuals from a broad range of demographic, ethnic, educational, economic, and professional backgrounds< /li><Li> Travel statewide and to national meetings (10% of the job)< /li><Li> Occasional work outside typical hours is required < /li></ul> <Div>TO APPLY: The application process will be handled through the Workday on-line search process.
