Bilingual Spanish IRS Order Entry Clerk

Position Summary:

Join our team and you will have the opportunity to work seasonally in part-time or full-time positions with the IRS. Working from home, you will assist taxpayers in ordering IRS Forms and Publications. Home work station and strong internet access are required.

A complete government background check will be performed before employment. Portions of the background check will require you to travel to a USAccess site for fingerprinting. Before submitting your application please go to this website and follow the steps below to determine where the closest USAccess site is to you:

  1. Review both Enrollment/Activation and Enrollment Only centers.
  2. Review both Shared Centers and Dedicated Centers.
  3. ENTER YOUR ZIP CODE AND CHOOSE THE MAXIMUM DISTANCE YOU CAN TRAVEL. In your search for the closest center to you, you can choose ANY shared center or a dedicated center to the Treasury. You also need to ensure the center does Enrollments (not activation only).

What you will do as a Bilingual Spanish IRS Order Entry Clerk:

  • Take incoming telephone calls one immediately after another, assisting taxpayers in ordering IRS Forms and Publications.
  • Conduct yourself and answer customer inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Search for and enter information on your computer – moving between 2 or more open browser windows on the desktop – while you are on the phone.
  • Function comfortably in a fast-paced, performance-based call center environment where every call is monitored, recorded, and assessed to see if you meet required performance levels.

The skills and experience you will use:

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and periodic yearly reviews consisting of employment verification, education verification, Social Security status, criminal background check, tax payment compliance and currency, and credit check. You must have the ability to leave their home to provide fingerprints as part of this government background investigation.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Good verbal and written skills in both Spanish and English, including grammar and voice quality, along with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to quickly navigate between several open and active windows on your computer. Ability to maintain your own computer equipment and Internet connectivity.
  • Type 20 words per minute.
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week (Monday – Friday).
  • Customer service experience, a college degree, and familiarity with Microsoft Office products are preferred.

Special Position Requirements: 

  • Between January – April, you are available to work more hours Monday and Tuesdays and work fewer hours for the remainder of the week (Wednesday – Friday).
  • When you first start, you will attend training 4 hours per day for 10 – 12 days.
    • Your total training time will amount to 40 – 48 hours across September, November, and December.
  • Prior to January 1st, limited hours are available and your shifts will be scheduled dependent on preseason call volume.
