AMETEK is well positioned in highly competitive market segments, each with compelling growth characteristics, and have 17,000 associates employed across 30 countries.The Logistics Associate will: Coordinate outbound logistic traffic; ocean, sea, air and domestic to maximize the cost effectiveness of this function.

Coordinate all new freight quotes with the sales department.

Understand and complete customer supplied special document formats such as packing lists, shipping marks, and COO’s Properly and accurately complete all required paperwork to ensure product is ready to ship in a timely manner and conform to corporate policies and comply with import/export laws.

Process paperwork for domestic and international shipments including obtaining documents from overseas agents, when necessary.

Generate & compare rates for LTL carriers, UPS & Fedex along with delivery time to determine best method of shipping.

Record shipping data into computer records.

Coordinate with Operations Director to ensure orders ship on time Ensure all orders shipped meet customer guidelines and deadlines.

Confirm all records for orders are complete and correct prior to shipment Coordinate shipping with customs agents for clearance on overseas deliveries Assist with additional vendor data documentation as required.

Contribute to documentation best practicesPosition Requirements: 3 months previous or current experience with AMETEK as contractor or temporary employee strongly preferredMust be detailed oriented Must have familiarity with ocean and air bills Ability to effectively communicate with Logistic Carriers and Freight Forwarders Strong relationship building and internal communication skills able to proactively communicate with internal departments while working through daily activities Ability to make informed decisions with little or no direct supervision Ability to respond to customer service requests in a timely and professional manner Ability to review our processes and expand on current practices, determining more efficient processes moving into the future and implementing best practices preferred.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
