Position Summary

Our Reno team at Scientific Games focuses primarily on specialty markets.

We design and develop exclusive content for our Central Determination, Class II, VLT, and Historical Horse Racing markets.

These markets are located across the United States and Canada.

We support multiple platforms on both Windows and Linux, designing and developing using the Unity game engine.

It is an exciting environment where game designers, engineers, artists, sound designers, and testers work together to produce some of the best content for the market.

The person in this position is responsible for directly assisting an experienced game development team in developing games and software for casino and video lottery gaming platforms.

They will be responsible for a variety of software, hardware and mathematical related tasks as well as obtaining working knowledge and experience with game development and common codebases and tools.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Testing and reviewing code
  • Creation and maintenance of development tools
  • Basic software debugging using debugging tools
  • Math testing and verification using simulation tools and excel sheets
  • Writing and installation of software

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Physical installation and setup of Gaming Cabinets including software installation
  • Research and education of the Scientific Gaming codebase

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming
  • Basic software development
  • Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux
  • Knowledge and experience with C/C++, C#, and Unity a plus
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields

Required Experience:

  • Overall, 0-1 year work experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Object oriented programming in any language
  • Experience with C# and Object-Oriented programming languages

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Detail-oriented and organized
