Vitality – Primary Therapist – Part Time

We have a part time opening for a Primary Therapist, this is an ideal opportunity for a LCSW, LMFT or LP interested in working with an outstanding team in the beautiful, family friendly community of the Carson Valley. The Primary Therapist provides quality and organized psychotherapy (group, individual and family therapy) and basic case management for identified clients and families, with a special emphasis on treatment and discharge planning needs. Maintains accurate and up-to-date knowledge of all relevant regulations and standards regarding the provision of behavioral health services and of the implementation of treatment and discharge planning. The Primary Therapist assures the collection and evaluation of discharge planning data connected to the services provided. This position will demonstrate professional behavior and supports the philosophy of CVMC. This position is a 24-hour per week position on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with the potential to fill in for other therapist as needed. POSITION SUMMARY This position is accountable to perform clerical duties, act as a unit receptionist, coordinate unite/patient activities with other departments via proper use of the computer and telephone, maintains an orderly and efficient nursing station. Provides, under the supervision of the RN, accurate recognition of cardiac rhythms by viewing the cardiac monitor, runs cardiac strips every four hours, measures PR, QRS, and QT intervals, identifies the rhythm, initials strip and mounts cardiac rhythm strip in the telemetry binder located at the nurses’ station upon patient discharge, strips to be transferred with patient chart. POSITION REQUIREMENT Minimum Education BLS Certification- (may be completed within 90-days of hire)Master’s degree in a Mental Health field from an accredited Graduate School that supports acceptable state licensure to provide masters-level behavioral health services.LCSW preferred– CPC/LPC, LMFT and LP also acceptable. Minimum Work Experience Corporate ComplianceOrganizational, verbal, interpersonal, patient relations, analytical, grammar/spelling, reading/comprehension of written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, and computer skills.Knowledge of community resources for older persons, knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and insurance requirements as these relate to continuing care.Familiarity with medical terminology and conditions as these impact treatment and discharge needs.Familiarity with medical team roles and with the functioning of other hospital departments.Knowledge of effective individual and group communication techniquesTwo to three years of clinical experience with older persons, and hospital or nursing home experience preferred.Must meet any applicable state certification standards.
