Assist with and collect COVID-19 specimen during testing events at IHB and in the surrounding community.Prepare patients for vaccine by providing information and instructionsProvide health materials, resources and education to patients and their families for informational purposes according to need and learning capacityFollow established occupational safety and health procedures, avoid exposing others to health and safety risks and participate in employer-provided occupational safety procedures.

Following local, state, and federal guidelines as well as communicating and reporting to outside organizations as needed.Respects and maintains levels of patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and regulations at all times.Ensure that all required reports, clinical and administrative documentation is completed in an accurate, timely and complete fashionKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAbility to assess patient condition, recognize adverse signs and symptoms, and react swiftly in emergency situations.Ability to understand and meet the needs of the patient through respectful, courteous, and caring interactions with patients, families, and other health professionals.Actively participates and works positively, flexibly, and cooperatively in a team effort to accomplish the goals of the Indian Health Board of Minneapolis.Manages time effectively and prioritizes task completion to meet deadlinesEffective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.QUALIFICATIONSLPN/RN, licensed in the state of MNNew Graduates welcomeRetain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ Basic Life Support (BLS) Excellent written and oral communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, as well as navigating the EHRHIPAAIHB makes reasonable efforts to limit access to and use of protected health information (PHI) by employees to the minimum necessary performance of assigned duties as outlines in job descriptions.

This position is access restricted to PHI needed to carry out health care operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of children up and in excess of 50 pounds.

The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
