Point Quest is looking for a School-based Certified Occupational Therapist to work in Las Vegas/Clark County and surrounding areas.

Position Reports To: Program Manager and Onsite/District Administration

Overtime Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Salary Range: $52.00 -$56.00 per hour

Occupational Therapist Key Responsibilities:

  • Initial Referrals, Assessments, and Evaluations: Conduct compliant, dynamic assessments that support educational decision making and eligibility within required timelines in key areas.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to develop schedules, appropriate goals, plans, and accommodations. Provide direct treatment according to needs outlined in the IEP.
  • Consultation and team support: Consult with team members and families to maximize generalization of skill sets. Provide training on sensory needs and classroom accommodations to support success in general education classroom.
  • Data Collection, Documentation: Maintain all necessary documentation in compliance with administrative policies and state and federal laws.
  • Developing Individual Education Programs: Develop and maintain compliant IEP goals within the required time parameters, attend IEP meetings with required team members.
  • Participation in Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation Teams: Conduct observations, referrals, timely completion of evaluation reports that are compliant, support eligibility categories and recommendations.
  • Supervision of COTA: Monitor and maintain documentation of supervision hours and minimum supervision requirements according to licensure and skill level.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Licensure: Nevada State Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Department of Justice/FBI Background Check
  • TB Clearance
  • Eligibility to work in the US
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Experience participating in and writing portions of the IEP
    • Specialized knowledge: sensory integration and techniques for supporting students with disabilities

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and/or fumes
  • Frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting up to 50 points.
